Self-lubricating silicone catheter hydrophilic or intermittent urine catheter

An intermittent catheter that has a straight edge has no curve in it, this is the standard straight catheter design that is used unless there is a problem with the insertion. The reason people choose to use a hydrophilic or self-lubricating catheter is because of the convenience and the smoother and finer insertion experience. If you experience discomfort during catheterization, try a hydrophilic catheter. They are noticeably smoother and have the added advantage that they will remain oily even when removed from the bladder and urethra.
